Recently, the high-performance 17 1/2" PDC drill bit manufactured by Cangzhou Great Drill Bits Co. Ltd. provided powerful support to the BHZ80002 drilling team at the Yantan 1 risk exploration well. During the second spud 444.5mm large-size wellbore construction, our product successfully facilitated a "one-trip" drilling completion. This outstanding performance set two new drilling records for this wellbore size in the Huabei Oilfield, injecting strong momentum into oil and gas exploration in the Hetao Basin with hard-core product strength and technical support.

The setting of these two records is fundamentally attributed to the technological advantages and product strength of Great Drill Bits. As a key risk exploration well deployed by the Huabei Oilfield in the Xinglong structural belt of the Linhe Depression, Bayannur Sag, Hetao Basin, the Yantan 1 well bears the important mission of exploring the hydrocarbon potential of the Linhe Formation in this region. The designed well depth reaches 6,050 meters, featuring complex geological conditions and extremely high construction difficulty. Notably, the 444.5mm wellbore section of the second spud has a designed open-hole length of up to 3,531 meters. Issues inherent to large-size wellbores, such as easy deviation, difficulty in increasing the rate of penetration (ROP), and severe hole cleaning challenges, posed strict demands on wellbore quality control, BHA optimization, and drilling fluid performance. This section was considered a "tough bone" in drilling construction, and the precise adaptation and excellent performance of the Great PDC drill bit became the core support to overcome this challenge.
In the early stage of the second spud drilling, the Great drill bit achieved a single-day footage of 1,365 meters and a rate of penetration (ROP) of 113.75 meters/hour, taking the lead in breaking the daily footage record for the 444.5mm wellbore in the Bayan Oilfield. As of March 14, the 444.5mm wellbore of the second spud was successfully drilled to a depth of 3,486 meters, completing a footage of 3,352 meters with an average ROP of 32.23 meters/hour. Equipped with the Great PDC drill bit, the operation successfully achieved a "one-trip" drilling completion, setting two new records for the Huabei Oilfield: "one-trip" drilling completion and single-trip footage in a 444.5mm wellbore.
It is even more worth mentioning that, under the synergistic effect of the precisely adapted Great PDC drill bit and the bottom-hole assembly, the well deviation in the entire well section was strictly controlled within 0.3 degrees. The wellbore trajectory was smooth, and the wellbore quality reached a premium standard, truly achieving the construction goal of "drilling fast, drilling straight, and drilling well". This fully verifies the outstanding performance and reliable quality of Great drill bits in complex formations and large-size wellbore operations.
